Humane Earth:Cite sources
From Humane Earth
Most of Humane Earth is people's ideas about a more humane world. Anything that describes how the world should be does not need a source. Anything that describes what a word means does not need a source.
Anything that describes how the world is does need a source.
Citing sources
If you see something that needs a source or [needs a source], find one. If you find that what is written is clearly not right, change it. If it might be right but it is not clear, do not change it. Talk about it on the "discuss" page.
To cite a source, type this after the words that need a source:
-
<ref> - The source. (Should follow the Chicago Manual of Style.)
-
</ref>
This will place the source as a note at the end of the page. Here is an example:
Buildings use 39% of the United States' [[energy]].<ref>[http://btscoredatabook.eren.doe.gov/ ''2006 Buildings Energy Databook''.]</ref>
This is how it looks:
At the end of the page, there should be a "Notes" section, with this:
<references />
For an example, click "read source" at the top of this page.
