What Humane Earth is and is not
Be sure to read what Humane Earth is about and what it is not.
No "fair use" here
People often add copyrighted material to Wikipedia. Most of the time, they do this without permission. They say it is "fair use." Often, they are wrong.
Humane Earth is not about how the world is. It is about how the world should be. For this reason, there is no "fair use" here. Do not add copyrighted writing or pictures without permission from the owner.
We do want pictures, so find a free one (not copyrighted). Or make your own!
Redirect links
In the main namespace ("define"), to make languages link to language, redirect the link. Do not type [[language]]s. Try to not use "piped" links (such as [[language|languages]]). Redirecting links makes it less difficult for people with screen readers to read the source.
Humane Earth is not released under GNU
It is under Creative Commons Attribution. The GNU Free Documentation License is more strict than we need. Do not copy anything from Wikipedia into Humane Earth.
You can copy something from Wikipedia only if it is released under both GNU and Creative Commons Attribution or a more free license. For more information, read the copyright page.
Humane Earth is written in plain language
The English Wikipedia has two forms: the main one and a "Simple English" one. We want only one Humane Earth. We want every person the be able to read and change it. For more information, read about plain language.
Humane Earth is inclusive
Users of Wikipedia can be mean on the "talk" pages. That is not allowed here. Humane Earth follows SISCO. It is inclusive. Every person must feel welcome here.
You are writing about a more humane world. Talk to people in a humane way.

Unlike Wikipedia, Humane Earth is just getting started. You can use your experience to help it develop. Your work will affect what sort of wiki it becomes. Your ideas to make it better are always welcome.
