You care about privacy when you use the Internet. We do too. When you read Humane Earth, we don't keep or show personal information about you.

We hope you don't just read. We hope you also add to Humane Earth. Anything you add is shown as written by you. You can decide whether this includes personal information or not.

Adding without logging in

You don't need to log in to add. If you add without logging in, the page will show your IP address. This is a set of numbers that shows where you connect to the Internet from. Other people may or may not be able to find personal information about you from your IP address.

Adding when logged in

If you don't want people to see your IP address, you need to log in. To log in, you must start an account. When you start an account, you must decide on a user name.

You can use your real name. You can use an imaginary name. If you add when logged in, the page will show your user name.

If you don't want people to know who you are, start an account and log in. Don't use your real name.

Cookies

Humane Earth will try to set a "cookie" to keep information on your computer. You need it to log in. If you don't want to log in, you don't have to allow the cookie. It's deleted when you leave.

If you log in, another cookie keeps your user name for 30 days. It also can keep your password, but only if you tell it to. If you don't want people be able to learn your user name, clear the cookies and cache from your web browser when you leave.

Email

When you start an account, you can enter your email address. You don't need to. If you do, other users can talk to you through your email. They can read your address only if you reply.

You can delete your email address at any time. Click my preferences at the start of the page.

Protect your information

The information in your account is only as safe as your password. It should have UPPERCASE and lowercase letters and numbers (1, 2, 3...). It should be difficult to guess. Don't give your password to any other person.
