Sustainable land use is a way of managing land that does not negatively influence the quality of the surrounding environment. A policy of sustainable land use protects, rather than harms, the species that live on and around that land, and protects, rather than harms, above- and below-ground sources of water, and protects the quality of the air.
[edit] Inclusive
Inclusive land use promotes the public, cooperative management of both private and public lands. All people must have an equal voice in shaping land use policy, from the local to the international. Zoning is one way that local and state governments control land use.
