From Humane Earth
My name is James. I live in Austin, Texas. I am from upstate New York, though.
In the fall, I start graduate school in architecture. This is my second try at grad school.
The first was in architectural history. It was in Virginia. I thought it would be more useful to actually practice architecture.
Humane architecture
If I will be an architect, I must think about what type I would like to be. I think I would like to be a humane architect. But it is not clear exactly what that means.
I have a few ideas. I need more. I have added my ideas to the page on buildings. I hope that other people will add their ideas.
Wikis
I like the website Wikipedia. I hope that Humane Earth can have some of the same success. I think Wikipedia shows how the Internet can make democracy stronger.
I think Wikipedia is even better than a democracy. People decide things using consensus.
I do not like all things about Wikipedia. One of my main interests in architecture, the web - all things - is access. I think one of the largest problems with access in most societies is language.
This is why I support plain language. I think plain language is one of the most important parts of Humane Earth.
Talk to me
I am interested in your ideas about Humane Earth. I am open to any questions. Just write on my "discuss" page. To talk to me without other people reading it, email james@humane-earth.com.
Zero Emissions Road Trip
Please visit my other website. It is on a something I called the Zero Emissions Road Trip.
I went across North America. As I went, I balanced the carbon I put into the air. I did this by helping people use less energy.
